In what can be termed as an Action Replay of the 2003 Men’s World Cup, Team India Women T20 World Cup campaign ended up on similar lines. Just like in the final of the 2003 World Cup, Australia won the toss and elected to bat. A mammoth total of 184 was posted due to the fiery innings of the Openers.
Team India struggled at the very sight of the total and folded up for a paltry 99. The Openers – Shafali Varma and Smriti Mandhana fell cheaply and from there, the team never recovered. Australia Women have become the Champions for the fifth time in a row. This is the second disappointment for Team India fans.
