It is reported that Rammohan intends to contest from the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat in the upcoming parliamentary elections. During his meeting with CM Revanth, he expressed his desire to contest from Malkajgiri, and Revanth Reddy assured him that he would look into the matter.

Bonthu Rammohan has a political background, starting from his involvement in the ABVP and BJYM. He joined the TRS during the Telangana movement. Rammohan served as the Mayor of GHMC after winning as a corporator in the 2016 GHMC elections.

Despite being considered close to KTR, there have been instances of disappointment within the TRS. In the 2018 assembly elections, Rammohan expected to contest from the Uppal constituency but was not given the ticket. A similar situation arose in the 2023 elections.

Allegedly, Rammohan requested the TRS leadership to provide an opportunity to contest from either the Malkajgiri or Secunderabad constituencies in the next parliamentary elections, but he reportedly received no positive signals. As a result, he is said to have met CM Revanth, who is in the process of joining the Congress.

The GHMC, which consists of 24 assembly constituencies, has not been a stronghold for the Congress, and these moves are seen as part of a strategy to change that scenario.
