AP PCC chief YS Sharmila asked the Telangana CM to build a memorial in Hyderabad in honour of late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Speaking on the birth anniversary of YSR at Idupulapaya, Sharmila made the request to Revanth Reddy.
She expressed hope that the Telangana government will look into the request soon. Sharmila revealed that she wrote a letter to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi regarding the same.
YS Rajasekhara Reddy was a Congress leader till the very end and was the 14th CM of combined Andhra Pradesh from 2004 to 2009. He was immensely popular especially among farmers and downtrodden for his schemes like 108 ambulance service and Arogyasri, fee reimbursement, Jala Yagnam and others.
He passed away when his helicopter crashed due to bad weather on September 2, 2009, in Nallamala forest.
Sharmila visited Idupulapaya YSR Ghat with her mother Vijayamma and offered floral tribute. She also posted on X saying Miss You Dad.
