YS Avinash Reddy was hopeful of getting a favorable decision at the Telangana high court in connection with the YS Viveka murder case. He applied for an anticipatory bail at the court to keep the CBI from arresting him.
But today, the high court has delivered a big jolt to Avinash Reddy as it postponed the next hearing to the 5th of June, citing summer holidays from tomorrow, 29 April.
The court stated that the Supreme Court’s comments in this case are very clear and added that the CBI is free to operate as it wishes in the case.
It is known that the Supreme Court opined the Telangana high court shouldn’t intervene with the CBI investigation in the case. The same was cited by the high court today in response to Avinash’s petition.
Avinash’s lawyer argued that the CBI might arrest him if the hearing isn’t held immediately. In response, the court asked them to approach the Chief Justice if needed, which they did. The high court chief justice too cited the Supreme’s comments and asked Avinash’s lawyers not to pressurise them.
So as things stand, Avinash has no immunity in connection with the CBI investigation in the case. The CBI is free to arrest Avinash now. Avinash has used all resources to avert CBI arrest but to no avail.
