The center also released 1176 Crore to bridge the revenue deficit of the state for the first year as promised in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act. With this, the total amount given in this account will reach 3979 Crore. Earlier there were reports that Union Finance Ministry had finalized Andhra Pradesh’s first-year Revenue deficit as just 6000 Crore when the state government is claiming it to be over 16000 Crore.
The Center also announced 450 Crore for Capital Construction. Earlier, the center had given 1050 Crore as a part of Capital Assistance. So, the total goes up to 1500 Crore. So, Andhra Pradesh is getting funds to the tune of 1976 Crore with this ‘Mini Package’ to the state. We will have to see if this is the final Package or an interim Mini Package before the compensation to the loss of Special Status as being said by the center.
