Centre to earmark Rs 1,000 crore to AP!

Naidu-with-Modi-in-delhiThe upcoming Union Budget is likely to have 1000 Crore for the construction of the state capital. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act requires the Center to completely bear the expense of the state capital construction. Andhra Pradesh government had requested 2000 Crore to be allotted in this budget for this purpose but the center citing financial problems will allocate only have of the sought money.

This grant will be included in the supplementary grants for the current financial year. The Center so far announced 500 crore to bridge the revenue deficit in the state Budget and Rs 350 crore for developmental schemes in seven backward districts of AP. The center is under pressure from all quarters for neglecting the state and moving out of the promises.

The state government is expected to lay the foundation stone to the capital in the second week of May and most of the constructions will be taken up in Private Public Partnership model. Delivering a World Class Capital is the prime poll promise of Chandrababu Naidu and he is in a huge pressure to deliver.
