AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has been around the political Arena for more than 4 1/2 decades, and he should have versed himself with more than enough political expertise and knowledge.
So any kind of assessment or analysis that comes from Chandrababu is bound to be filled with adequate information and evidence.
This was a brilliant display when Chandra Babu was asked whether Tamil actor Vijay would be as successful as Pawan Kalyan, given that both of them have film background and have great aspirations in public.
While it should have been easy for Chandrababu to pick a favourite and make a convenient statement, he was very constructive with his response.
The Chief minister analysed that Pawan Kalyan had been around for more than 10 years in politics, and he stood scrutiny of the public, which made him what he is today. He said resilience and determination kept Pawan Kalyan constantly in the public, and the rewards are being reaped today.
At the same time, he kept his commentary on Vijay very limited. “ Vijay is very new to politics, and I do not want to comment about him already. Let us see if he will stand the test of time and prove himself. For now, we can’t compare him with Pawan Kalyan who has been dedicated for the job.”
While this might be a trick question, considering the recent success of Kalyan in AP election, and the possibility of Vijay repeating something like this in Tamil Nadu, Babu with all his maturity kept the answer straight to the point.
Much like Pawan Kalyan, even Vijay is contesting to constituencies in his first election, and we have to see if Tamil Nadu public is going to be any kinder for him.
