Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu is a very tough politician who places overall interests over personal gains. He applied the same formula in the 2024 election, which was of historical importance to TDP.
In a conference with TDP cadres, Chandrababu revealed that he had to take many tough decisions before the 2024 election.
Telugu Desam supremo said he had to avoid many of his close friends and supporters within TDP ranks during the ticket allocation in 2024. This was a very calculated decision with the greater interests of the party in the mind.
Chandrababu said many of his close associates who were with him for many decades were not given the MLA or MP tickets if there were credible survey reports that they would lose. This is an indication of the fact that Chandrababu was very particular about encouraging winning horses in the election period.
The importance of 2024 election was such that it was crucial for the very survival of many parties and hence TDP was not taking any chances with the same. This also shows the kind of prominence that Chandrababu put on the election and was prepared to irk even his close pals within the party to make it all happen.
This is understandable if we look at the cases of several TDP seniors, including SVSN Murthy, Devineni Uma, and several others who had a close rapport with the CM and still couldn’t get MLA tickets. While some are due to the alliance seat sharing, others are due to internal reports.
Ultimately, all the hard work and tough decision paid off as TDP comprehensively won the election in alliance with Janasena and BJP.
