Naidu wants to bring back Amaravati artifacts from BritainAndhra Pradesh government is keen on digging the rich past of Amaravati after the place is chosen to be its next capital. About 30 to 40 artifacts that were excavated from and around Amaravati site are on the display at the British Museum.

In fact there is a separate gallery called Amaravati gallery in British Museum comprising of 30-40 artifacts related to Buddhism and Amaravati.The state government is planning to take this to the notice of the Prime Minister when he is in Amaravati for laying the foundation stone.

The state wants to get those artifacts back from Britain after exerting pressure through government of India. It is going to be a long drawn out process and they will begin that after the event.
