
Ram Gopal Varma got a major jolt in the cheque bounce case. The Sessions Court dismissed RGV’s petition requesting to strike down jail sentence. It also issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW).
On January 21, Varma was found to be the culprit in the case and the magistrate said that RGV was liable for punishment.

The magistrate imposed three months jail sentence to the accused and directed that the complainant be paid Rs 3,72,219.
RGV filed an appeal in Sessions Court. On February 4, the Sessions Court struck down the appeal and issued a non-bailable warrant. The judge also refused to strike down the jail sentence ordered by the judicial magistrate.

However, the Court said that RGV can appear in person before the Court and appeal for bail. The date for hearing on warrant implementation has been set at July 28.
A case was filed in 2018 by a company complaining that Ram Gopal Varma’s company gave them a cheque that bounced.

Varma is also entangled in cases alleging him of making insinuating films against AP CM Chandrababu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
