As a part of the alliance between the NDA forces in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party would contest 144 assembly seats and 17 parliament constituencies. Jana Sena would contest from 21 assemblies and two parliament seats. On the other side, the BJP is contesting from 10 assembly and six parliament constituencies.
With the announcement of BJP’s Candidates in Andhra Pradesh, we got clarity about the pending seats that need to be announced by the Telugu Desam Party.
The party needs to announce the candidates for eight assembly and four parliament constituencies. There is heavy competition for tickets for the Vizianagaram Lok Sabha and Cheepurupalli and Bheemili assembly constituencies.
The party wants to give Vizianagaram tickets to the East Kapu community members. Senior leaders Kala Venkatrao, Meesala Geetha, Bangarraju, and Nagarjuna are in consideration for this ticket.
Srinivasula Reddy and Bhupesh Reddy are in contention for the Kadapa ticket. For the Anantapur MP constituency, the party is considering JC Pavan Reddy, Professor Rajesh, Nagaraju, Ambika Lakshmi Narayana, and Pola Nagaraju.
Coming to the assembly seats, Giddi Eshwari or Donni Dora may secure the Paderu ticket. Ghanta Sreenivasa Rao may get the Cheepurupalli ticket. If he contests that seat, Bheemili’s ticket may go to Kala Venkatrao or Bangarraju. If not, the Cheepurupalli ticket will go to either Kala Venkatrao or Kimidi Nagarjuna.
The party is considering senior leader Gottipati Hanumantha Rao’s granddaughter Sri Lakshmi for the Darshi constituency. Jagan Mohan Raju and Chengalrayudu are in contention for the Razampet ticket. Aloor ticket may go to Veerabhadram Goud or the Vaikuntam family.
NRI Nirmala and Prabhakar Chowdary are in a race for the Anantapur assembly constituency. Former minister Gummanuru Jayaram will most likely get the Guntakal ticket.
