Even two national parties, arch-rivals like the Congress and BJP, have a unanimous opinion on phone tapping. While they may differ on issues like Kaleswaram, they find common ground on this matter.
The reason behind this consensus is that leaders from both parties in Telangana were victims. Not only Revant Reddy but also Bandi Sanjay fell victim to phone tapping during the BRS era.
With new names emerging in this case regularly, BJP leaders are criticizing the previous government vehemently. BJP State President and Union Minister Kishan Reddy alleged that the then Chief Minister was responsible for this affair.
He criticized BRS leader and former CM KCR, stating that the then CM had mishandled this affair involving some ministers, high officials, and retired officials. Engaging in phone tapping to blackmail people and amass crores of rupees is reprehensible.
BJP’s Medak Parliamentary Candidate M. Raghunandan Rao demanded that former Chief Minister KCR should be named as the primary accused in the phone tapping case.
He also claimed that during the Dubbaka by-election, his phone was tapped, his campaign methods were exposed, and he faced difficulties.
The defeat of BJP candidate Rajagopal Reddy in the previous by-election was attributed to phone tapping. Allegations also suggest that BJP leader BL Santosh’s phone was tapped and included in the cases.
