It’s been two days since the Telangana people have given a mandate in favor of the Congress party in the state. But Congress High Command is yet to make a final decision about the CM candidate.
The proposed Swearing-in ceremony of Revanth Reddy on Monday night was canceled at the last minute. There are rumors that Bhatti Vikramarka and Uttam Kumar Reddy are keen on getting the post based on their seniority.
Both of them are in Delhi trying to please the party’s high command.
Revanth Reddy will be the natural aspirant because it was he who worked really hard to bring Congress high command.
But this dilly-dallying is sending a bad signal to the public. During the campaign, BRS always alleged that Congress coming to power would paralyze the policy-making since every decision has to be approved by Delhi.
Congress is proving them right with this delay.
People are saying that this is akin to KCR delaying the cabinet after coming to power after the 2018 elections. That was the first time people were really upset with KCR.
Even though the quantum of the mistakes is different, people are feeling similarly.
Congress sources are saying something in their defense.
“It is important to address the dissent before the swearing-in ceremony. We never know if the BJP or BRS will take advantage of these differences. The aspirants will be ‘Satisfied’ before the cabinet formation. Hence it is taking time,” they say.
This sounds good but people often care only about optics and not about intricate details.
So, Congress’s high command should finish this Tamasha as soon as possible.
