Delhi High Court Gives 24-Hour Deadline To Sakshi

Delhi High Court order on Sakshi TV

Sakshi TV has received a strong direction from the Delhi High Court over its reports on Heritage Foods.

The issue began after Sakshi published and telecast reports linking Heritage Foods with Bole Baba Dairy. The company termed the allegations baseless and defamatory. Following this, Heritage management approached the High Court seeking Rs 100 crore in damages.

While hearing the petition, the Delhi High Court issued notices to Sakshi Media and directed it to remove the concerned reports, telecast links and related content within 24 hours.

The court also made it clear that if Sakshi fails to comply within the given time, digital platforms such as Meta Platforms, Google and YouTube may be required to take steps to block or remove the content.

The matter will now move to the next stage as the court examines the defamation claims filed by Heritage Foods against the media organisation. The 24 hour deadline has added urgency to the case and placed Sakshi under legal pressure.
