Former CBI JD Lakshminarayana contested as a Janasena Candidate for Vishakapatnam Parliament in the 2019 elections. He did not win but divided the votes of the TDP candidate and helped the YSR Congress candidate win the election.
He has been politically inactive after that except for making random statements and giving interviews.
He is repeatedly saying he will contest as Vishaka MP once again in the coming elections and is trying to use the Vishaka Steel Plant Privatization issue to get closer to the public.
There were hints that Lakshminarayana is trying to get closer to BRS.
We have seen hungama by him in favor of BRS immediately after Union Minister said the Privatization is on hold.
But then, the very next day, Union Government announced that the Privatization is very much on bringing the issue back to square one.
Now, Lakshminarayana has come up with another strange statement.
“We are participating in the Expression of Interest in Visakha Steel Plant. I will bid on the behalf of the people. If privatization is your policy, we will show how the people will push back,” he announced.
This is something outright silly. The Expression of Interest in Vishaka Steel Plant will run into several 1000s of Crores. It is next to impossible for an individual or group of individuals to bid for it.
Keeping the money aspect, the Expression of Interest will also include Technical Eligibility. There will be several prerequisites in terms of experience and other technical capabilities. Many Steel companies may also become ineligible due to those conditions even though they have the financial muscle.
This statement of Lakshminarayana is outright silly. It looks like JD is also trying to play into the galleries like normal politicians to please the public.
Meanwhile, YSRCP fans are having a field day saying that JD is corrupt and earned so much that he can bid for a Steel Plant.
