The Indian General Election 2024 has reached its final leg. The last phase of polling will be held tomorrow (June 1), and the results will be declared on June 4.
The entire election process is celebrated like a festival in India. People are highly intrigued by the post-poll surveys and eager to know the results.
Exit poll results will be announced tomorrow evening, so we can expect people to be glued to their TV sets, keen to know the public’s pulse.
On June 4, the anticipation will be even higher, with everyone glued to their TVs, mobile phones, and laptops, tracking the counting in every state.
To make people enjoy this experience even further, movie theatre owners have decided to screen the counting process live on the big screen.
A few theatres in Maharashtra have started this initiative and began the bookings as well. These screenings allow people to experience the thrill of knowing the results while sitting with 500 others in a closed auditorium.
In Mumbai, SM5 multiplex in Kalyan and Movie Max multiplexes in Sion, Kanumarg, Eternity Mall Thane, Wonder Mall Thane, and Mira Road will screen the elections live.
In Pune, the screening will be held at Anamora Movie Max. Movie Max Eternity in Nagpur and Movie Max: The Zone in Nashik will also screen the election counting.
The screenings start at 9 am and may last over six hours. Ticket prices range from Rs. 99 to Rs. 300 per ticket.
Other states may also follow this trend in the next few days. However, the screenings will not be possible in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh due to licensing issues. So, people in the Telugu states won’t be getting a chance to experience the elections live in a theatre.
