Fake Notes In Pensions Distribution In AP

Fake Notes DistributionJagan Government has hiked Pensions from 2500 Rupees to 2750 Rupees starting today. The Government has given front-page ads in all Newspapers boasting this.

Volunteers have started distributing Pensions since morning and Fake notes in Pension distribution caused a stir in the Prakasam district, as per a story in Eenadu.

The incident took place in Narasai Palem of Erragondapalem Mandal in the Prakasam district. Volunteers went door to door and distributed pensions in SC Colony. A beneficiary went to a shop with pension cash and found fake notes in it.

When this matter was brought to the notice of the volunteer, more fake notes were found in the distributed money. With this, the volunteer took ₹19,000 worth of ₹500 fake notes from the beneficiaries and handed them over to the authorities.

Usually, the Pension cash is withdrawn from the banks. Authorities are yet to make a statement about how fake notes have landed.

Jagan promised to hike pensions from 2000 to 3000 after coming to power but is doing in phases. And then, the government has given large-scale notices of removing many pensions just before the recent hike amid the allegations of trying to decrease the burden in one way or the other.
