The family of Vemala Srinivas from Vinukonda in the Palnadu district were going to Tirumala to have the darshan of the Lord. Two men, two women, and two children were traveling in an Innova car.
They arrived in Ongole city after 10 PM on Wednesday night. Feeling hungry, they arrived in Ongole town to have food and it turned out to be a big mistake.
In the wake of Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s visit to Ongole on the 22nd of this month, a constable came to them and demanded to give the driver along with the vehicle for the convoy.
The family explained to him that they were going to Tirumala with the family but to no use.
“These are the orders of the superiors sir, there is nothing I can do except to apologize,” the constable said and took the driver along with the car.
The family got stranded on road at night not knowing what to do.
They could not find a vehicle at that hour to go to Tirumala or go back home. There is a severe criticism on social media and the common public of the government after all Newspapers carried this news prominently today.
After the public backlash, the government got alert and resorted to damage control.
