The TDP government is following a wait-and-watch policy regarding some of the IAS and IPS officers. After CBN took charge as AP CM, Praveen Prakash was the first officer to apply for VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme), despite having 7 years of service remaining. Later, the TDP government put some officers on hold without giving them any postings.

The government has initiated action against Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) Managing Director Venkata Reddy, who faced numerous corruption allegations during the previous YS Jagan government. As part of this, it is known that the department is ready to register a case against Venkata Reddy along with suspending him.

Allegations of large-scale irregularities concerning sand, beach sand, coal, and mines were prevalent during the previous government. Against this background, top officials of the Department of Mines have launched an investigation.

The allegations were proven, leading the senior officials to recommend to CM Chandrababu that Venkat Reddy be suspended and a case be registered against him. Orders in this regard are likely to be issued in a day or two.

There was previously speculation that the Jagan government had brought Venkata Reddy, who worked in the Coast Guards, to the state on deputation. Subsequently, he was assigned the responsibility of APMDC MD, which was a significant role.

On the other hand, as soon as the Chandrababu government was formed, the APMDC office was seized. The government also took appropriate measures to prevent government records from being taken out. As a result, senior officials of the Mines Department examined all the key decisions taken by the previous government and prepared a report, which was submitted to CM Chandrababu.

Consequently, the government will take action against Venkata Reddy. He is the first officer facing both suspension and disciplinary action after the change in government in the state.
