There is strong buzz in Andhra Pradesh political circles that Ganta Srinivas, the Bheemili MLA, could soon be elevated to a minister-level role. Reports suggest the TDP leadership is considering him for a high-impact institutional position.
According to sources, Ganta Srinivas is likely to be appointed as the chairman of the Uttarandhra Economic Regional Development Authority. This role is being viewed as equivalent to a ministerial berth in terms of influence and responsibility.
Ganta Srinivas began his political career with the Telugu Desam Party. He later joined Praja Rajyam, a party launched by Chiranjeevi.
After Praja Rajyam merged with the Congress, Ganta Srinivas served as the human resources development minister. He remained active in state politics through various phases.
Ahead of the 2024 elections, he returned to the TDP and won as MLA from Bheemili. His comeback victory strengthened his standing within the party.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu has earlier stated that loyal party leaders would be given key responsibilities even if they were not included in the Cabinet. Ganta Srinivas is said to be among those leaders.
With significant growth potential in Uttarandhra, heading the development authority is seen as a prestigious and strategic role. The move is also being interpreted as a sign of strong trust from the party leadership.
Ganta Srinivas’s supporters are reportedly excited about the development. With speculation of a Cabinet expansion in Andhra Pradesh, political analysts say this position could be an attractive alternative to a ministerial post.
