Andhra Pradesh continues to attract global investments across multiple sectors. The latest update reveals that Germany is showing strong interest in the Vijayawada and Vizag Metro projects, marking a key step in the state’s transport development.
The Andhra Pradesh government has already invited tenders for both projects, though final decisions are still pending. Germany’s entry at this stage brings a new level of credibility and technical expertise to the table.
German Ambassador to India Philip Ackermann confirmed that Germany is open to discussions with the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He said that if invited, they are ready to negotiate and collaborate on the Metrorail projects.
Germany is known for its world-class public transport infrastructure and efficient metro systems across Europe. Its involvement promises well-planned, advanced, and sustainable metro solutions for the growing cities of Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam.
Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s national railway company, already operates the Delhi-Meerut rapid rail service in India. With this experience, Germany aims to contribute its engineering and design expertise to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s urban transport network.
