Chandrababu Naidu has taken charge as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. His first task is to understand the damage inflicted on the state finances and then start the repair work.
However, the rot is much more than expected.
The talk in the media circles is that many Sakshi employees are shifted to the payroll of the Andhra Pradesh Government creating fake posts.
A few of these employees work in the Peshis of the Ministers; most do not even report to the Government and work in Sakshi offices across the state.
They just draw the salaries from the Government and work to Sakshi.
Thus the salary bill of Sakshi will be reduced and the incoming money will increase as Sakshi was the biggest benefactor of Government ads.
The new Government should check if such employees have resigned or are still drawing salaries.
Chandrababu Naidu has already instructed the ministers not to use the staff of the previous ministers and has revamped the office completely.
Even if such employees resign, Chandrababu should expose the modus operandi and put all their details in public so that Jagan can be shamed.
In fact, the money lost from the state exchequer should be recovered from Jagan Mohan Reddy or his wife Bharathi Reddy who is the Chairperson of Sakshi Group.
