IT teams raided the houses of two major biryani hotel owners in Hyderabad. The raids began on Tuesday and continued through Wednesday. The Officials move across multiple locations linked to well-known food chains.
The teams recovered around Rs 20 crore in cash, large quantities of gold and documents linked to several assets. The seizures added pressure on the hotel owners as more details surfaced during the searches.
On Wednesday, officials found massive amounts of cash at the houses of Pista House and Shah Ghouse owners. They also found benami imported cars and property records. Mehfil was also part of the ongoing raids in the city.
The raids focused on clear mismatches between declared and actual earnings. An official statement from the IT department is still awaited, but the scale of the operation shows the seriousness of the findings.
Pista House, Shah Ghouse and Mehfil remain among Hyderabad’s most popular biryani chains, with outlets in India and abroad. You see heavy public interest in the case as the brands enjoy strong demand. After recent hygiene checks, the government is now acting against tax evasion as eating-out culture grew exponentially over the years in the city.
