Refusing to follow the trend set by Mumbai Police and Chennai Police, Hyderabad Police have decided that they will not ban the use of camera fitted drones of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). There are apprehensions that these drones are dangerous from security point of view.
However there are several instances in which the drones are being used in the city like capturing wedding photos, Realtors using them to take the photos of their projects etc. Recently drones were also used to capture photos of Ganesh Nimmarjjanam.
Hyderabad Police say there are no complaints so far regarding the misuse of drones. So, it is decided that instead of banning them, Police are asking to those intending to use camera-fitted drones to apply for permission, mentioning details of the equipment and purpose. The permissions will be given after studying the genuineness of the case.
