The government of Andhra Pradesh is fully committed towards developing Amaravati as the technological hub of not just Andhra Pradesh, but also all of India. In tune with this, there is the massive quantum engineering project that is happening in Amaravati.

This capital region is going to host the quantum computing Centre that is going to be developed by IBM, Microsoft and others.

And now IBM has dropped a significant piece of information regarding this quantum computing Centre in Amaravati, and this came from the CEO himself.

IBM Chairman and CEO Arvind Krishna has confirmed that Amaravati will host one of the first two IBM Quantum Computers to be established in India. This project commissioning is projected to completed by September 2026 and could turn operational shortly thereafter.

Krishna also said the quantum computing revolution is approaching an inflection point, stating that quantum computers are just 2–3 years away from delivering significant commercial advantages.

This will be a crucial development in many sectors such as pharmaceuticals, materials science, financial services, logistics, cybersecurity and advanced AI.

It is good that the government of Andhra Pradesh is very proactive to this effect, and they are leading the charge will give them the natural advantage. This is the kind of reformative and forwardthinking that Andhra Pradesh lacked for 5 years before 2024 and things are starting to change drastically now.
