Incidentally, India houses more over 142 million Facebook users, one of the highest for Facebook. Since its launch in 2011, Facebook’s bug bounty programme has received over 2,400 valid submissions.
The social networking major has awarded more than $4.3 million to 800-plus researchers globally. These are the security bugs ignored by Facebook’s in-house team but were later identified as vulnerabilities in Facebook’s services or infrastructure that can create security or privacy risks.
