What Is the Film About?
Sing Geetham is about an entire village that falls under a curse and starts singing instead of speaking. What caused the curse, and what the villagers do to break it, forms the rest of the story of Sing Geetham.
Performances
Ahilya Bamroo, Ayaan, and Shalini Kondepudi play the key roles in the film, and all of them do a good job in their respective parts. When it comes to emotional performance, it is Ahilya who walks away with the major credit, and she truly deserves it.
Analysis
Sing Geetham, directed by legendary filmmaker Singeetham Srinivasa Rao, opens with what appears to be a simple gold mining conflict and introduces the film’s key female characters along with an important male lead.
The initial setup takes a little time to settle in. Ahilya’s Telugu dubbing also adds to that staged feeling in the opening portions, making some moments feel more theatrical than organic.
But once the film moves into its core narrative and reveals why the characters begin expressing themselves through songs, it finds its rhythm. From that point until the interval, the film flows smoothly and delivers continuous laughs.
This is a highly unconventional film, so judging every moment purely on entertainment value or discussing whether the musical format feels repetitive becomes completely subjective. But overall, there are plenty of songs and moments that bring a smile to your face.
The biggest strength of the first half is how clearly the narrative is handled. Despite its unusual format, the storytelling remains easy to follow and moves with a clean, smooth flow, avoiding confusion and keeping away dull moments for most of the runtime.
The second half nicely reveals the reason behind the curse and why the people are forced to sing instead of speaking. The flashback and the entire explanation are executed in a heartfelt and engaging manner.
What follows from there until the climax, especially the pre-climax and climax portions, becomes emotionally rewarding, with the ending landing in a deeply satisfying way.
Some of the ideas implemented by the team work beautifully. One such moment is how the pregnant woman, who has been discriminated against all along, eventually finds support and protection from the very people around her. It is a wonderfully conceived and emotionally moving stretch.
From there, the way the curse is lifted and how everything comes together is presented with sincerity and warmth, making the ending emotionally fulfilling.
Overall, Sing Geetham is a film that should not be missed in theatres. This is not the kind of film that delivers the same impact if watched casually on OTT with pauses and interruptions. If you want to experience something fresh, unconventional, filled with fun, and ultimately rounded off with heartfelt emotions, this is a theatrical experience worth taking.

Firstly, watch the teaser and read a little about the film before entering the theater. This is not a regular commercial entertainer. Understand the core idea, accept the fact that a major portion of the film communicates through songs, and if you are open to that format, settle into the experience. Chances are, the film will slowly grow on you and by the end, you may find yourself falling in love with what it tries to achieve.
Performances by Other Actors
Sing Geetham boasts a mix of known and fresh faces, and they all blend well into the narrative. Every actor performs well within their scope and adds value to the film.
Music and Other Departments?
Devi Sri Prasad composes the music, and this film is yet another reminder that DSP is in a league of his own among the current generation of music directors. From the songs to the background score, he understands the soul of the film and delivers exactly what a film like Sing Geetham requires. This will stand as another memorable addition to his body of work.
Cinematography by Ankur is pretty decent. Had the set work blended in more naturally, it could have looked even better. The editing is smooth throughout.
Production values by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema are good.
