TDP leader Chandrababu inquired about the extensive news stories in the newspapers regarding the land scam in Visakhapatnam under the guise of regularizing assigned lands. Visakhapatnam TDP leaders informed Chandrababu that a huge scandal has taken place in and around Visakhapatnam in the name of regularizing assigned lands.
They explained that actual insider trading occurred in Visakhapatnam, with leaders of the ruling party and some high-ranking officials having advance knowledge of how the assigned lands were going to be regularized.
They stated that at least 2,000 acres have been transferred from poor farmers to the hands of influential individuals, with Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy being among the beneficiaries. Former MLAs Nallamilli Ramakrishnareddy and Jyotula Nehru detailed how this scandal unfolded from the beginning to the end. On this occasion, Chandrababu remarked that he had never seen land being misappropriated so badly. Former MLA Shravan Kumar explained the problems faced by farmers in the capital region.
Chandrababu assured that the party will fully support the farmers and promised that if TDP comes to power, they will expedite the construction of the capital. It is reported that there was also a discussion about the arrangements for counting votes across the state and the conduct of officials and police during this period.
