The much anticipated IPL auction was completed in Dubai last night. The costliest buy ever happened yesterday as Mitchell Starc was sold to KKR for a whopping Rs 24.75 crores.
Coming to the topic, a Telangana boy has also made merry at the IPL auction, and here is a look into the same.
Telangana-born team India U-19 cricketer Aravelly Avanish Rao has been roped into the squad by Chennai Super Kings. He was sold for the base price of Rs 20 lakh.
Avanish Rao, 18, is a Siricilla native and he is representing India in the U-19 team and will be a part of the U-19 World Cup that will be starting January 19, 2024.
He is also the captain of the Hyderabad U-19 side. He is a wicket-keeper batsman and a very good one at it.
While the price paid for the young cricketer might not be a big one, the fact that he was brought by the reputed CSK franchise is the key here. He will be in MS Dhoni’s camp for a couple of months and this is really invaluable.
