Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy appears to be facing confusion in the selection of Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates.
He has appointed new in-charges under the guise of surveys, displaying a stubborn stance towards incumbents and feigning confidence in victory.
YSRCP has been engaged in the process of finalizing candidates for the past two months, but Jagan has only confirmed 16 MP names so far.
The announcements for Tirupathi and Chittoor Parliament candidates exemplify how YS Jagan has reversed his earlier decisions.
Deputy Chief Minister K. Narayanaswamy, initially declared as Lok Sabha MP from Chittoor (SC), has now been assigned the Gangadhara Nellore (SC) seat.
The current MP, Reddappa, who was initially announced as the in-charge, has once again been confirmed as the Lok Sabha candidate.
Despite YSRCP denying tickets to any of the sitting SC MLAs in Chittoor Lok Sabha, including Narayanaswamy, they have openly expressed their dissatisfaction.
Jagan was concerned that this dissatisfaction would impact the elections. In response, Narayanaswamy and Reddappa were reverted to their original positions.
Satyaveedu MLA Aadimulam was announced as the Tirupati Lok Sabha candidate in place of Gurumurthy. However, both of them rejected the proposed changes.
While sitting MP Gurumuthy remained silent, YSRCP sitting MLA Aadimulam criticized PeddiReddy directly for his dominance in the district over the SC community.
Aadimulam also met TDP leader Nara Lokesh, forcing YS Jagan to retain Gurumurthy as the Tirupathi candidate.
