Popular dancer and choreographer Raju, who became famous through the Telugu dance reality show Dhee, has been arrested by Miyapur police in a sexual harassment case.
According to the complaint, a young woman accused Raju of sexually harassing her after allegedly promising to help her get film opportunities. Based on her complaint, Miyapur police registered a case against him on September 9.
Raju became popular in the Telugu states through Dhee and took part in several seasons of the show. He won Dhee 10 and also reportedly won the title in the recently concluded Dhee 20 season.
The latest case has now created a major controversy around the choreographer. The young woman reportedly alleged that Raju cheated her in the name of film opportunities and also sexually harassed her.
After receiving the complaint, Miyapur police started an investigation. Police later arrested Raju in connection with the case.
Raju was produced before the court following his arrest. The court reportedly sent him to judicial remand.
