YS Jagan Mohan Reddy recently addressed the media and spoke on several issues. One of the main points he raised was about the Chandrababu Naidu Government’s plan to run some medical colleges under the PPP Model.
The Naidu Government took this step due to the shortage of specialist doctors in the state. The PPP Model is expected to bring private sector expertise and resources to manage and develop these institutions.
However, the YSR Congress is turning this into a political issue. Jagan Mohan Reddy directly warned bidders, saying that if his party comes to power, he will cancel the tenders and take them back.
This behaviour is seen as anti-development. Jagan has a past record of reverse tendering, which affected projects like Polavaram and Amaravati. His cancellation of renewable energy PPAs also drew nationwide criticism and hurt investor confidence.
Earlier, Jagan carried out such actions after coming to power. Now, he has openly issued threats while still in the Opposition. This has created fresh concern among investors about the state’s future prospects.
Leaders like Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan have been stressing that Jagan will not return to power, which they say alone can restore investor trust. Jagan’s recent statement has only confirmed their claims.
The video of his remarks has gone viral on social media, where people criticised his attitude. Yet, Jagan is known to remain unaffected by such reactions, often appearing as though he lives in a glass chamber.
It is now up to the government to act swiftly to prevent this issue from escalating. If left unchecked, Jagan’s comments may again harm the state’s growth and undo efforts to rebuild investor confidence over the last five years.
