YSR Congress is struggling to find the right candidate for this seat. The latest is that they are planning to send Senior leader Dharmana Krishnadas to this seat in the coming election.

In all the elections since 1952, candidates belonging to the Kalinga caste won ten times and the Velama caste six times. Kinjarapu Yerrannaidu won four times and Ram Mohan Naidu two times in this. Gouthu Lachanna of another caste won once.

Tammineni Sitaram belonging to the Kalinga community and Krishnadas of the Velama community are the options.

Jagan initially wanted Dharmana Prasada Rao to contest but he said No.

Jagan is convincing Krishnadas by promising his own Narasannapeta seat to his wife or son.

Both Tammineni and Krishnadas are facing anti-incumbency in their own constituencies. Fielding them for Parliament may not be a good idea but Jagan thinks he can pull it off with his positive vote and general anti-incumbency against Ram Mohan Naidu after completing two terms.

But then, he seems to be underestimating Ram Mohan Naidu. RMN will have the strong TDP vote base support here and he has a good image in the youth and neutrals which will make things easy for him.

That is the reason why he sustained the strongest Jagan wave in 2019.
