Telangana High Court has directed the CBFC to explain the reason behind the non-issue of a certificate for Ram Gopal Varma’s Propaganda film, Vyooham produced by Ramadootha Creations.
Ramadootha Creations and film producer Dasari Kiran have filed petitions claiming that the film is not being issued a certificate due to the implementation of the Legislative Assembly Election Code in the state.
Justice Surepalli Nanda heard the matter on Friday.
Senior lawyer Niranjan Reddy argued on behalf of the petitioner saying that not issuing a censor certificate is against the law. He said that if they want to stop the screening of the film, the Election Commission should take that decision but not the CBFC.
The High Court adjourned the hearing to the 28th of this month as the lawyer on behalf of the Censor Board asked for time to find out the details.
It is interesting to note that Niranjan Reddy is Jagan’s lawyer in his disproportionate assets cases. The Supreme Court lawyer was also nominated to the Rajya Sabha last year. He is also appearing on behalf of the CID in the Supreme Court in Chandrababu’s Quash Petition.
This very much indicates how the Jagan Government is behind Ram Gopal Varma and the real intention of the film, Vyooham.
Nara Lokesh recently complained to the CBFC saying how the film is intended to defame his father and himself while helping the YSR Congress in the upcoming elections by distorting facts. He also served a legal notice to RGV recently.
