YSR Congress was badly battered in Telangana due to the pro-Samaikhya Andhra stand it had taken before the 2014 elections and from then there is no redemption at all. The party recently contest Warangal by-election but was pushed to fifth position.

But still Jagan pinned hopes on Telangana and is planning to contest all the divisions in the upcoming GHMC elections. Lotus Pond is conducting interviews for interested candidate like in corporate style.
They are being asked questions like Why contest from YSR Congress? Why contest even though defeat is certain? How much money you can spend? etc. It is said that some candidates are finalized too.
