Telangana Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar constructed an NTR Park and Statue in Khammam to mark the centenary celebrations of NTR Jayanthi. Settlers are decisive in Khammam district and this is aimed at getting their votes, many opined.
The statue was supposed to be inaugurated by Junior NTR on NTR’s Jayanthi day but some legal issues delayed the inauguration. Finally, the statue was inaugurated by Minister KTR today.
Buzz in Khammam is that Puvvada is keen on having Junior unveil the statue for apparent reasons. Initially, Junior also promised to unveil the statue whenever all the issues were cleared.
But then, NTR refused at the last minute. He obviously wanted to maintain a low profile after Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. There was a dissent in Telugu Desam Party cadre and Nandamuri fans for Junior being silent on this issue.
Initially, it appeared as a small issue for NTR but there were massive protests from the party supporters and even the general Telugu public across the globe indicating that the Public sentiment is strong against Chandrababu’s arrest.
The issue that NTR considered politically initially turned out to be completely emotional.
NTR wants the issue to die a silent death and if he attends the statue’s inauguration, it will ignite the debate again. So, he politely said sorry to Puvvada Ajay.
The Telangana Minister is very close to the actor.
