Komatireddy Brothers: One In, Other Out of Cabinet?

Komatireddy brothers Telangana cabinet buzz

Telangana is likely to see a Cabinet expansion soon. Revanth Reddy is expected to fill two vacant Cabinet positions, according to political circles.

There is strong buzz around Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy getting a Cabinet berth. At the same time, speculation suggests his brother Komatireddy Venkata Reddy could be dropped.

Ahead of the 2023 elections, Rajagopal Reddy and Vivek Venkataswamy quit the BJP and joined the Congress. Rajagopal Reddy has maintained that he was promised a minister’s post then.

However, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy was sworn in along with Revanth Reddy. This left Rajagopal Reddy out of the Cabinet at that stage.

Rajagopal Reddy was later promised a minister’s post if he helped Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy win as an MP in Bhuvanagir. The Cabinet was expanded on June 8, but he was again left out.

During that expansion, Vivek Venkataswamy, Adluri Laxman, and Vakati Srihari were inducted. Caste equations played a key role in these selections.

Following this, Rajagopal Reddy openly criticised Revanth Reddy. He even threatened to resign and accused the CM of not releasing funds to Munugodu.

The issue reached the Congress disciplinary committee. However, no action was taken against Rajagopal Reddy.

After this phase, Rajagopal Reddy went silent and stopped attacking the CM. Nalgonda is currently represented by Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy.

Congress insiders say Venkata Reddy may be dropped along with a few others. This is expected to make way for Rajagopal Reddy in the Cabinet.

Sources add that Rajagopal Reddy received assurances from the High Command. Since then, he has remained quiet about the CM, they say.
