Surekha Madam, Zara Bhadram

Konda Surekha speaking at press meet

Konda Surekha is becoming the face of controversies in the ruling party for the comments she makes. After CM Revanth Reddy who uses choicest of words against BRS chief and other leaders, Konda Surekha comes next in courting controversy.

We all remember, the Minister had to publicly apologise to actor Nagarjuna for her remarks about Naga Chaitanya-Samantha divorce. In fact, Nagarjuna went to the extent of filing a defamation case for the baseless comments she made in a press meet.

Once again, Surekha spoke something that might haunt her for days to come. This time, she praised the IAS officers. That does not sound controversial. But after praising the IAS officers for their services, she said a CM could be ‘anghoota chap’, a Minister could be uneducated, but it is the IAS officers who guide them to carry out their job. She said that’s how the Indian Constitution is.

Gone is the era of finger print CMs. The grand old party of India, Congress, has some such members or used to have such CMs. Today, all major political parties are targeting millennials and Gen Z voters. Even regional parties are targeting youth.

So, amma Surekha would steer clear out of trouble if she stops making such comments in the flow.
