KTR & Sircilla: Back To Square One!

KTR

The Sircilla constituency in the Karimnagar district had a unique characteristic. Before 2014, the party winning the MLA seat differed from the one in power in the state, causing a perception of local underdevelopment. Even after the constituency redistribution in 2009, this trend continued.

The scenario changed after the state’s formation in 2014. KTR, now a four-time winner in Sircilla, faced a shift with the Congress regaining state power in this Telangana assembly elections, and the situation is back to square one as it was before 2014.

The desire for continuous development was evident post the formation of Telangana. With BRS (formerly TRS) in power and K. Taraka Rama Rao as the MLA, significant attention was given to constituency development.

As the son of Chief Minister KCR, KTR, also a minister, brought in funds and initiated various projects over the past nine and a half years. The district witnessed growth in education, healthcare, and rural development, earning national recognition.

However, with the recent change in government, concerns arose among locals about the continuity of this development.

In a recent public meeting in Sircilla KTR asserted that K. Chandrasekhar Rao remains the sole voice for Telangana. He affirmed that the public still supports BRS, positioning it as an effective opposition voice.

He pledged that BRS would pressure the Congress government to fulfill its promises to the Sircilla people.
