BJP leader from Hyderabad, Kompella Madhavi Latha has created a new debate across the country. Madhavi Latha went to the prayer room at the Delhi Airport and started reciting Durga Stuti.
At the time, there were fellow Muslim women who looked baffled by the development. The entire incident was on camera. Now, her using the Prayer room has generated various comments on social media.
While some feel she did nothing wrong as the Prayer room is meant for all religions, there were others who felt Madhavi Latha’s main intention was to harass the Muslim women already present in the room.
Some argued that while there is nothing wrong if she used the Prayer room, but said that she should have recited the mantras silently. They pointed out that Christians, Muslims and Sikhs recite their prayers silently and so should she.
To this, another person said the azaan is heard in many neighborhoods daily.
So far, it is not clear if Madhavilatha did it out of devotion or to make a point. Whatever her intention, it did spark a debate for sure.
