Andhra Pradesh Government is taking special interest in Ramoji Rao’s Margadarsi case. We have been seeing the CID Chief N Sanjay keeping Special Pressmeets and enthusiastically making comments against Margadarsi.
Margadarsi approached the Telangana High Court against these Special press meet and unwarranted comments with the intention to create panic among the customers. “AP CID Chief N Sanjay kept two Pressmeets in Delhi and Hyderabad. We request the court to ensure the investigation details are not revealed,” the petition said.
The High Court became serious about the CID Chief for this behavior. The counsel representing the Government says as a part of protecting the rights of the subscribers, the brief details about the investigation have to be disclosed, and to that extent, there is freedom of expression.
The High Court did not buy this argument. “We are reading Newspapers. We are very much aware of what you are talking about there,” the court opined. The High Court ordered Personal notices to CID Chief N Sanjay and asked the Petitioner’s lawyer to submit the receipts to the court.
The court posted the next hearing to July 20th and asked all respondents to file counters.
We do not know if Sanjay acted on his own to impress the Chief Minister or was acting on instructions from the higher-ups but personal notices means he is in trouble.
Civil Services officers knocking on the doors of the High Court is not anything new. It is happening right from Jagan‘s cases to present Government. It looks like another officer is added to the list.
