It is interesting to see if the YSR Congress will contest these elections.

After the recent rout, the MLC elections were held. Even then, the MLC elections were held only for Guntur-Krishna districts and both Godavari districts.

In those elections, Telugu Desam candidates Alapati Rajendra Prasad and Perabathula Rajasekhar won.

The YSR Congress Party did not contest in those two elections citing that the Government is misusing the Police and Government Machinery. They declared that they do not believe Free and Fair elections will not happen and so boycotted the elections.

It will be interesting to see how the party will approach these elections.

Jagan Mohan Reddy is repeatedly claiming that the anti-incumbency has peaked already. If that is true, it should be reflected first in the Educated Voters.

So, there is no better option than these elections to prove the anti-incumbency.

The Morale of the YSR Congress cadres is very low after that Nara Lokesh’s Ad on Sakshi’s Front Page and Vijayasai Reddy quitting Politics.

If Jagan decides to skip these elections, the morale of the cadre will be further down.

On the other side, MLC elections have also become very costly in recent times. Not many leaders are ready to spend so much. Even if they do, it is very tough to take on the ruling party. Even if they win, such much of spending does not make sense to sit in the Opposition.

If they contest and lose, all the claims of the anti-incumbency will be punctured.

So this is not an easy decision to make for Jagan.
