Telugu Desam Party candidates cruised to a sensational victory in the Graduates MLC Elections. Alapati Raja won the Krishna – Guntur Seat with 83,320 Votes Majority while Perabattula Rajasekharam won Godavari districts seat with 77,461 Votes Majority.
These are Record Majorities in the History of MLC Elections. These Majorities are also a Positive Referrendum of Chandrababu Naidu‘s Eight Months Rule.
Why these elections are Perfect Survey Sample to gauge the Mood of the People?
These two seats covers 67 Assembly Segments. The Godavari districts MLC Seat covers 34 Assembly Segments while Krishna and Guntur Seat covers 33 Seats.
In Godavari districts, TDP candidate polled 1,24,702 Votes i.e., 62.59% of the total valid votes. In the Assembly elections, TDP+ got 59.28% Vote Share in this two districts.
In Krishna and Guntur districts, Alapati Raja got 1,45,507 Votes i.e., 67.51% of the Total Valid Votes. In 2024 Elections, TDP+ candidates registered 58.19% Vote Share in this two districts.
The four Districts combined, TDP and it’s allies polled 58% of the Votes in the Assembly elections and that is up now to 65% Vote Share. That is mammoth 7% Vote Share increase.
YSR Congress did not contest these elections fearing the defeat. But they supported the PDF candidates who were defeated thoroughly.
There is an underlying message that people are just not okay with YSR Congress candidates but they are not even tolerating anyone who are having any sort of relationship with that party.
Normally Graduates MLC Seats are strongholds of the PDF. Now they are wiped out completely and TDP bagged all the five MLC Seats in Graduates Category. Remember the party won three of these seats in 2023.
