Modi Eenadu Interview: Danger Signal For CBN & PK

Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not give a single one-on-one interview in this Election Season. Eenadu got the credit. Its Editor M Nageswara Rao interviewed the Prime Minister and the interview is on the Main Page today.

The interview is all about the Prime Minister’s vision for the country, his confidence in winning, Telangana’s Political Condition, etc.

If there is anything significant for Andhra Pradesh, it is Modi assuring that Polavaram will be completed on time for sure and his Government will do all that it can do.

We can not expect promises on issues like Special Status, but there is no mention of Amaravati as well.

There are no concrete promises on rebuilding Andhra Pradesh which suffered due to the Bifurcation and focus only on freebies in the last five years.

There is not even a single word against Jagan Mohan Reddy’s misrule or the chances of the alliance in Andhra Pradesh.

It is as if there is no election in Andhra Pradesh and even if it is there, the BJP is not concerned.

It is interesting to note that Modi made political comments on the prevailing political conditions in Telangana.

“It took ten years for people to send BRS home but they would not take long to do the same for Congress,” Modi said. He also responded in political language about his opponents criticizing that the Central Government has done nothing for Telangana.

Eenadu would have certainly asked questions pertaining to Jagan’s rule, it is clear that the Prime Minister’s office vetted them or the Prime Minister chose not to answer them.

In March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a Political Meeting with Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan in Palanadu. He made a similar speech without any assurances to Andhra Pradesh and criticism of Jagan Mohan Reddy. Modi’s speech only caused damage to the alliance.

Modi is visiting Andhra Pradesh on May 6th and 8th. He will address a few Public meetings and Rallies in the state. I

Modi’s Eenadu interview is an indication to Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan of what is coming.

Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan are sweating it hard on the ground. While they work hard, BJP arm-twists them to grab more seats. From a position to zero seats and less than 1% vote share, the party will win a handful of seats in the Assembly and Parliament.

While there is no use so far for TDP and Janasena because of the BJP, they are only causing damage.

We have seen their behavior at the Manifesto launch and if Modi behaves the same way, he will only derail the momentum of TDP and Janasena.

The problem with these issues is that they do not change the political discourse in the election season but will give fodder to the media. The positive media space of the alliance will be occupied by negative news in the crucial election season.

Remember we are six days away from the close of the campaign.
