Modi looks at shredding Soot Boot Sarkar perceptionThe Union budget tabled a short while ago, had made significant allocations to improving the farming segment and rural infrastructure. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that his government is focused on doubling the income of farmers in the next five years. Jaitley allocated 35984 Crore for agriculture and farmers welfare.

The central government had announced lending 17.9 Lakh Crore as agriculture loans for farmers. They also allocated 5500 Crore for the newly announced agriculture insurance scheme. Modi government announced a target of bringing 28 Lakh Acres in to farming newly and also bringing five Lakh acres in to organic farming.

Besides farming, focus is on improving rural infrastructure with improving electricity, roads. Center also announced that 2.87 lakh crore will be given as grant in aid to gram panchayat, municipalities which gives 80 lakh per gram panchayat and 21 Crore per municipality for 2016-17. The government announced electrification of all villages by 2018. MNREGA, an employment guarantee scheme for poor was also allotted 38500 Crore. So, it seems like Modi government is looking at shredding Soot Boot Sarkar perception.
