The vaccine is said to providing “double protection” against the virus. The blood samples of volunteers who already received the jab revealed that the vaccine stimulated the body to produce antibodies and T-cells. This is great news because T-cells play a central part in the body’s immune response.
The vaccine is expected to be available for commercial use by October. AstraZeneca, the partner of this vaccine pledged to produce two Billion Doses this year. In India, Serum Institute of India partnered for this vaccine and already started mass production.
The company is spending more than USD 100 million in this facility. According to the medical bulletin released this morning by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 10,03,832 confirmed Corona cases, and the contagious virus already claimed 25,602 lives across the country.
