Andhra Pradesh will lead the country in making all the land records easily available online. This is a special initiative taken by the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to end the menace of fake pattadar passbooks, which have been used extensively to access fraudulent bank loans in several districts.
This is to prevent the tampering of physical records. The Revenue Department had already uploaded 100% of government land records and also the majority of the data related to private lands are also uploaded.
Around 13000 tablets were provided to employees to upload the data. The government is planning to organise gram sabhas across the State from August 10 to August 31 to receive complaints and suggestions related to land records. They will rectify any errors in the online records.
