Last week’s high court verdict over 1258 Power employees relieved by Telangana government did not solve the issue but looks like it aggravated it further. The high court ordered that Telangana government should continue them and their salaries and four months arrears should be shared by AP and Telangana governments.

Accordingly, AP should be paying 58% while Telangana should pay them 42%. While Telangana government happily agreed for this proposal, Andhra Pradesh government is not okay with it. They are questioning why they should pay for the salaries of employees working with Telangana government.
There is a merit in AP’s argument and now the state government is planning to knock the door of Supreme Court on this issue. Given this new twist, the relieved employees may have to wait further to get their pending salaries and clarity over their future. Center intervention finalizing the employees division seems to be the only solution for this now.
