Jana Sena has secured a municipality without fighting an election. Despite not having a single counselor on their side, Jana Sena achieved this feat. It became possible with the strategy of Minister Kandula Durgesh and the municipality is Nidadavole.
It is known that Durgesh tried for Rajamahendravaram seat, but settled for Nidadavole. Ever since he won, he has been planning big time to win the municipality which was in the hands of YSRCP.

In all, YSRCP had 28 councillors and Jana Sena none. In the recent elections, YSRCP won 27 councils while TDP won one. However, after the alliance formed the government, the YSRCP councillors decided to join Jana Sena, as it meant development.
The chairman and vice chairman joined Jana Sena. With this, Jana Sena got Nidadavole municipality without contesting. But that would mean defection. So the YSRCP councillors raised a no-confidence motion. Some of those who signed on no-confidence motion joined Jana Sena.

Due to this, the motion did not go through any discussion. And Jana Sena got the chairman’s seat. From zero position to winning over a municipality is no small thing and all credit goes to Kandula Durgesh, Jana Sena insiders shared with media.
