We are less than 48 hours away from the polling in Telugu states for the 2024 General Elections. The campaigning activities have officially ended today at 6 pm.

Meanwhile, officials are getting ready at the polling booths to ensure a smooth voting process across the state.

Due to the scorching heat this summer, the Election Commission has decided to provide a nutritional diet for all the officials and staff who are performing electoral duties at polling booths.

The officials and staff will reach their designated polling stations on May 12, along with electoral equipment.

They will be provided with buttermilk and samosa at 4 pm. At 5 pm, they will be served with lemon water or buttermilk.

Between 7-8 pm, they will be served dinner comprising of rice, chapati, vegetable curry, tomato dal, chutney and curd.

On the polling day (May 13), the staff will be given a cup of tea and two bananas at 6 am. Between 8-9 am, they will be served with vegetable upma as breakfast.

Around 11-12 pm, they will be served with buttermilk. The lunch will be served at 1 pm, comprising of rice, chapati, egg curry, vegetable curry, chutney, sambar and curd).

Buttermilk or lemon juice will be served at 3 pm. At 5.30 pm, they will be served with tea and biscuits.

All polling booths are being equipped with fans and coolers (if needed) for the comfort of the staff.

Panchayat executive officers in villages and specially appointed officers in municipalities/municipal corporations will take care of these proceedings at polling booths.
